Although it is often downplayed as rare, no one really know how much it happens, as there is little incentive for doctors to report such events and every reason for them to deny it.  Medical journals confess that vaccine reactions can go unreported in at least 90% of cases.  Undereporting is a big problem to assesing the scale of risk if we are to fairly determine vaccine's value to human health.  Some issues are far overdue for evlauation, even based on resolute facts, like: The only way an American has contracted polio for over 20 year is from the vaccine or being in close proximity to a recent vaccinee (we average 5 per year, approximately).  Remember; if it happened to you, the chances were 100%. The mother, who lived in area that was fighting an outbreak of yellow fever, received the 17DD yellow fever vaccine about two weeks after giving birth to a healthy baby, according to Aline Mallmann Couto, MD, of the Hospital de Caridade de Cachoeira do Sul in Brazil, and colleagues. Five days after receiving the vaccine, the mother developed a headache, malaise, and a low fever, which persisted for two days, the researchers reported in the Feb. 12 issue of Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report."
